The Moving Wall™ 2017 Schedule


Since the inauguration of the mobile memorial was displayed on October 15, 1984, at the Tyler Texas Rose Festival, the "Original and the First replica" of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (VVM) known as The Moving Wall (TM) has toured within and outside of the United States. The first original and only half-size mobile replica of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial. was built solely by the American citizens. Communities, family,and friends, provided all of the money needed to build this first replica. There were no government funding, private industries nor corporate support provided and it was John's intention that this was the People's Wall - it should be built for the people. Nothing like this memorial had ever been constructed in Washington but whereas the Vietnam Veterans Memorial received government funding as well as from many various corporations and wealthy citizens.

The Moving Wall (TM) was created by a grass roots campaign from veterans, families and friends. The same can be said for The Moving Wall (TM) web site. Unlike the other replica websites or the VVM, there are no advertisements or support sections for any military groups.

With their honest representation of the Vietnam veterans memorial, The Moving Wall™ has been requested by 1984 cities (2016 totals) in the United States. There is normally a 2-3 year waiting list but all requests are received if a city pulls out during the current year.

Currently there are two Moving Wall replica, Wall A and Wall C (Wall B retired to the University in Kansas) will visit 42 cities throughout the U.S. three sites are still pending from April 27th til November 13th 2017. I am honored to be an associate member.
